ABOUT

Peace of Mind was started by wife and mother of two, Mrs. Charlie Toy.  Her initial education is in Criminal Justice.  Charlie was a Sergeant with the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office for approximately six years and left the Sheriff's Office after the birth of her son. She made the decision to return to school and major in Child Development.

Peace of Mind started as a small child care home and grew into a large child care home. Charlie realized in order to offer children and families her vision of the best child care, she would need to build a center; no center offered everything she believes is necessary for the learning environment.  Peace of Mind offers:  a healthy menu, a sand room, a natural playscape, and a splashpad.

  • Healthy Menu:   We have catered to children with multiple food allergies and understand the importance of eating healthy.

  • Indoor Sandbox:  Sensory Play is a vital part of learning and exploring; with this in mind, we brought a sandbox indoors. We have done this to ensure children have the ability to enjoy sensory play on daily basis, even if it is rainy or cold outside.  This area of the playroom is dedicated to only sand play and gross motor skills, children are encouraged to use their imagination for success.

  • Natural Playscape:  We have taken the time to plan and offer a more natural environment for children to explore and learn.  Children today are hurried onto playgrounds with plastic toys for durability, and while this method does engage the child and encourage the use of large motor skills, it does not evoke their imagination.  At Peace of Mind we offer a natural playscape, which allows children to touch nature, engage the child's curiosity, work with both fine and gross motor skills, and allows the child to enjoy endless opportunities of creative sensory play.

  • Splash Pad:  Every child loves water play and many centers take children on field trips to splash pads. To ensure safety and security, we built a small splashpad on site for the children to enjoy.  This is a unique feature most centers do not offer.

Peace of Mind has gone above standards to ensure our children are offered the best care possible.

Above are our unique sand and water play areas. These areas promote: physical, social, and language development.  Large muscle skills develop as children: dig, pour, sift, scoop, and clean up spills with brush and dustpan.  Eye-hand coordination and small muscle control improve as children learn to manipulate sand accessories.  Sand and water play also promote social skills, as you see here. ~Early Childhood News.
